APPLE AWARDS PROJECT

Recently completing this project for TRACTION CO.,

a San Francisco-based advertising firm which creates the award-winning

Ads you've seen for APPLE, we were commissioned for the purpose of creating four

commemorative awards pieces, celebrating 10 years of collaboration between the

two companies. The awards were to be presented to APPLE executives at their annual

company awards ceremony. The design concept, to create an award with

the appearance of an industrial mold or "tooling" of an award, to imply

and recognize the hard work of what happens behind the scenes required for

an award-winning, final product.

Our work to produce these awards required 8 months from design to

fabrication/completion, starting with machining an inner core block from solid

aluminum and then laminating, layering a series of chemically engraved,

precision laser cut plates, hand polished surface finishes.

Total costs for design/production: appx. 4k for each award.
